The past week’s been awfully hectic. I didn’t like it at all.

First off, mondays suck. Especially at my job, where monday means ‘icehockey summary’, which means I mostly spend all day editing a hockeygame while there’s plenty of other stuff to be taken care of for that day.
Then, on tuesday, one of my colleagues went home sick, dropping editor responsibilities mostly on me, since my other colleague is more cameraman than he is editor. I’m vice versa. Anywho, the wednesday after that, the other colleague called in sick, so now I had to take care of most of the filming and editing duties, whilst also having to build a broadcast every day. Combine that with one very stressfull boos/reporter, and you’ve got yourself a mix for cropped up anger.
Luckily, there’s violent videogames. I bought Resident Evil 4 a while ago, and blowing heads off infected people does kind of relax the mind. The worst about all this is that I hardly had any time to update any of my comics, which sucks, since I at least try to upload something every day, which I didn’t manage to do over the weekend.

In other news, my mom, a friend and a writer are working on getting a book published. It’s a sequel to a book that collects letters, written by the aforementioned writter and a , now dead, singer/writer. In the year beforethe singer died, him and the writer started to write eachother letters again, resulting in the project we’re currently working on.
Basically, we need 200 orders before the book hits the presses. We’re up to 112 orders right now, and that’s after about a week, so it’s not going too bad. But it’s been a bit of a hectic week for me all together.

Remember when you were a kid, and you had like huge crates full of Lego’s? I do. And remember when you were at a toy-store and you saw one of those HUGE sets and asked your parents you could have it? I do. And remember how they answered ‘When you grow up you can buy all the Lego’s you want.’ I do.

And I did. About two weeks ago, there was an offer on a website that offers great deals on a daily basis. That day it was three Lego Exo-Force models, including a Limited Edition one. Since I’ve always loved Lego and I’m a sucker for Limited Editions, I ordered the set. A week or so later they arrived and I got to building. I finished building way to soon, as one always does when having fun, but the models turned out to be awesome. Basically, they’re big mechas like you see in anime. And I love anime. It was the ideal combination.

So I decided to start collecting the Exo-Force series. Now it’s about two weeks later, and since then, I’ve added three shelves to my bedroom, on which a total of nine models are displayed. One of them, a ridiculously big car, on which I spent several hours to build. It’s awesome. I get that feeling you get when you suddenly come across something unexpected from your childhood. A wave of nostalgia hit me full-on. So yeah, eight sets down, 28 to go. I’m more and more convinced that this has been one of the better ideas i had in the last couple of months.

It’s relatively busy at work, since we’re in the middle of a switch-over to a new network name and everything that comes with it, plus my band is coming closer and closer to releasing our first album, so it’s pretty relaxing to be able to just sit down and build stuff with little plastic bricks. You don’t have to think about anything to do it right; just follow the pictures and you can’t go wrong. Sure, every now and then my mom walks onto the kitchen and goes ‘Aww, isn’t he sweet, playing with his Lego’s.’, but Hell, she does embroidery, so I get back at her by hiding her needles.
Serves her right.

That’s right.  It’s been ages, but I’m back on track and all that!

Actually, I just revamped iloverutger.com and put a link to this blog on there, so I figured I’d liven this thing up a bit. Hopefully I can get myself to post more regularly again.

Anyways, as I said, iloverutger.com got a complete makeover. The new layout is nice and simple, and it’s basically all comic related, the comic being ‘Life As Told By Rutger‘.
Besides the comic, you get an IRC based chat, a radio station and the ability to instantly request tracks on said station. Even though the requests don’t work just yet, I hope to sort that out tomorrow when I get a new router.

In essence, I’m back, I’m renewed and I’m here to stay!
